The Livingston Independent School District and the Livingston community recognize the importance of encouraging students to pursue education beyond high school. This commitment to higher education, including technical and vocational training, is the driving force behind the LISD Green and White Scholarship Program.
The Green and White Scholarship Program works with local community organizations and individuals to set up scholarships to award Livingston High School graduating seniors. The program assists in organizing criteria and writing scholarship descriptions.
In January of each school year, the LISD Communications Office creates a booklet describing and listing the scholarships available from community organizations and individuals. Booklets are distributed to graduating seniors. Each senior is encouraged to complete the online application and apply for all scholarships they may be eligible to receive.
Participating organizations in the Green and White Scholarship Program review applications and make scholarship selections.
LHS Green & White Scholarship Night is an event where donors present scholarship certificates to the recipients of the LHS graduating class. The Green and White Program has been part of a tradition since 1988. The Livingston community works in cooperation with LISD to support students' efforts to reach their higher education goals. Last year, the Green and White Scholarship Program distributed over $1,100,000 to graduating seniors.
