Spirit Day

Super Spirited Sixth Graders!

Our 6th graders repped their favorite sports teams (second to their Livingston Lions, of course)! Spirit days are a great way for our students to get excited about the school day and find common ground with their peers!

LHS FFA

Showing Them the Ropes

High School FFA students took time out of their busy schedules to show our 8th grade Ag students all of the opportunities that await them in high school and how they can get involved!

Critical Reading Skills

Critical Reading Skills in Science

Students in Mrs. Brumley's science class learn that science is about more than just beakers and microscopes. While taking notes, students focus on vocabulary, common uses, and scientific properties of the acids and bases they work with in the lab.

Welcome to Livingston Jr. High: Home of the Lions!  As the new principal, it is an honor to lead a school which aims to help every student learn and grow in a positive way.  Livingston Junior High works to achieve the goal of Livingston ISD: to "provide an exemplary education that prepares students to become successful citizens" in partnership with families and the community.  This means the school helps its Lions gain the knowledge, skills, and values needed to succeed in school and become successful community members.  Teachers are excited to begin this year and teach students in ways that are both challenging and interesting.  Our goal is to create a place where students can try new things, learn to think deeply, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Student success occurs when the school, families, and community work together.  Parents are encouraged to participate in their child's school journey.  Participation in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and the LJH Parent Teacher Organization is encouraged.  Parent help is key to a good school experience for all Lions.

At LJH, our focus is on creating a positive school culture where every student feels important, safe, and connected.  I firmly believe in building a place where everyone is treated with respect and takes responsibility for their actions.  This helps students become productive citizens who contribute positively to their community and the world.

Our campus leaders are available to support students and their families this school year.  Open communication is welcome, and you can reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas.  Please contact the school by phone or email to discuss how to work together for a successful year for Livingston Junior High.  Thank you for visiting our school website to learn more about our school.  I look forward to a wonderful school year of learning and growth.

Go Lions!

Sincerely,
LaMona Coleman
Principal, Livingston Jr. High
